AKL100 Auckland 100 km triathlon and multi-sport event
AKL100 is a 100 km triathlon and multi-sport event held at Selwyn Reserve, Mission Bay on 21 March 2027. The event uses short spectator-friendly laps on each discipline to concentrate athlete support and aid stations.
Distances include:
- Swim: 2 km (1 long lap plus 3 short laps)
- Bike: 80 km (5 laps of a 16 km course)
- Run: 18 km (4 laps of a 4.5 km course)
The bike race is strictly non drafting. Key bike rules include a minimum 10 metres gap to the rider ahead and a 30 second limit to complete a pass once in the draft zone. Athletes must keep left unless overtaking and obey marshal and traffic directions.
Event services include professional timing, fully stocked aid stations, on-site medical support, closed roads for the bike course, and strict race rules for safety. Swim caps from the event are required for the swim; wetsuits are optional. Course details specify buoyed swim lines and marked run and bike routes.
Athlete inclusions announced for the event comprise a 56L transition bag, personalised swim cap, personalised race number and bike stickers, finisher medals, and limited sponsor discounts and merchandise.
