AKL100 - Auckland 100 km Triathlon
AKL100 is a multi-sport event held in Mission Bay, Auckland on 21 March 2027. The event offers a 100 km triathlon and several race formats including Swim, Bike, Run, Aquabike, Duathlon, Super Sprint, and Olympic distances.
The main 100 km format comprises:
- Swim - 2 km (1 long lap and 3 short laps)
- Bike - 80 km (five laps of a 16 km course)
- Run - 18 km (four laps of a 4.5 km course)
The bike route uses an updated Tāmaki Drive layout with long straights, defined corners, and smooth road surfaces. The course design includes short spectator laps so athletes pass viewing areas multiple times and encounter more aid stations on lapged sections.
Race operations and athlete services include closed roads, strict non-drafting rules on the bike, professional timing, on-site medical support, and stocked aid stations. Wetsuits are optional for the swim and athletes must wear the official event swim cap for visibility.
All AKL100 athletes receive event kit and race items such as a 56L GLYDE transition bag, personalised swim cap, personalised race number and bike stickers, a finisher medal, bib tag buttons, and discount vouchers for selected gear. Prizegiving and spot prizes are part of the event wrap-up. Event rules cover safety, equipment standards, and respectful behaviour on course.
