Event overview
The Adventure Awaits 5k takes place Thursday, August 27 to Sunday, August 30, 2026. The event includes a 5K run, a Kids Run, and a Virtual 5K. Registration opens January 1, 2026. The 5K is chip-timed by Falcon Race Timing. The event is organized by Scouting America - Great Falls Council and is open to all ages.

Location and course
The event is held at Round Top Park, 2555 Round Top Road, Athens, PA 18810. Morning sign-up is at pavilion #2 on the outside of the park's upper loop. The start and finish are near pavilion #5 inside the upper loop. The course includes a mix of trail and road surfaces. Restrooms are available and at least one water stop is provided by local Scouts.
Entry, packet pickup and awards
Early registration via RunSignup is $25 for the 5K and the Virtual 5K; the Kids Run is free. Packet pickup is available on Friday, August 28 and additional pickup on race morning. Registration at packet pickup is $30. Cash or checks are accepted on Friday, August 28 and Saturday, August 29. Age-group awards will be given to top men and women across multiple categories, and the overall top man and woman will receive a special prize. Kids ages 2-10 run about 400 meters and each participating child receives a prize. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
