Adventure Awaits 5k
The Adventure Awaits 5k is a community sports event held at Riverfront Park in Sayre, Pennsylvania. Hosted by Scouting America's Great Falls Council, specifically the Winding Rivers District, the event serves to support local Scouting programs. The course features a mix of road and trail surfaces through the park grounds.
Participants can choose from the following event options:
- 5K Run/Walk
- Kids Run (approximately 400 meters)
- Virtual 5k Run
The race is chip-timed by Falcon Race Timing. On-site facilities include restrooms and at least one water station managed by local Scouts. The start and finish lines are located near the pavilion at the back of the park, situated behind the baseball field.
The Kids Run is open to children aged 2-10, and all participants in this category receive a prize. For the 5k, an awards ceremony follows the event to recognize top male and female finishers in several age categories, including under 12, 13-17, 18-29, 23-30, 30-39, 40-49, 50-64, and 65+. Special prizes are also designated for the overall top male and female runners.
Packet pick-up is available on the Friday prior to the race or on the morning of the event. Registration is available online in advance or on-site during packet pick-up hours.
