Adventure Awaits 5k
The Adventure Awaits 5k is organized by Great Falls Council, Scouting America, and takes place at Riverfront Park, 100 Riverfront Park Rd., Sayre, PA 18840. The event is open to all ages and includes in-person and virtual options.
The course combines trail and road surfaces. Restrooms are available at the park, and there will be at least one water stop staffed by local Scouts. Strollers are allowed; dogs are not permitted. The race is chip-timed by Falcon Race Timing.
Distances offered:
- 5K Run : 3.1 Miles
- Kids Run : 0.25 Miles (about 400 meters)
- Virtual 5K Run : 3.1 Miles
Packet pick up is available the day before the main event and on race morning. Registration opens January 1 and closes August 27. Early in-person registration is listed at $25; on-site registration at packet pick up is $30. The Kids Run has no registration fee. A free race t-shirt is offered for registrations completed by August 1. Virtual participants may request a mailed t-shirt for an additional fee of $6.95.
A flag ceremony by local Scouts precedes the youth run and the 5K. An awards ceremony follows the race, with age-group awards for men and women and overall top man and woman.
