Adventure Awaits 5k
The Adventure Awaits 5k is a two-day community running event held August 28–29, 2026 at Riverfront Park in Sayre Borough, Pennsylvania. The event includes in-person and virtual options and takes place on a course that combines trail and road surfaces. Restrooms are available in the park and at least one water stop will be provided by local Scouts.
Distances offered:
- 5K Run : 3.12 Miles
- Kids Run : 0.25 Miles (about 400 meters)
- Virtual 5K : 3.12 Miles
Packet pick up is available before race day on August 28 and on race day. A flag ceremony by local Scouts will open the race day activities. Strollers are allowed; dogs are not permitted in the event area. The Kids Run is open to children ages 2–10; a waiver form is required and every participating child will receive a prize. The event is chip-timed by Falcon Race Timing.
Registration opens January 1 and closes August 27. Fees noted by the organizer include a reduced registration fee of $25, a higher fee at packet pick up, and a $25 virtual entry fee. A mailed t-shirt option is available for an additional $6.95 if requested by the registration deadline. Awards will be given to top men and women across multiple age groups, plus overall top man and woman prizes.
