Event Overview
The Adventure Awaits 5k is a running and walking event organized in connection with Scouting America. It is held at Riverfront Park on 100 Riverfront Park Rd. in Sayre, Pennsylvania. The event features three separate activities: a 5K Run/Walk, a Kids Run, and a Virtual 5k Run.
Distances
- 5K Run/Walk: A chip-timed course over a mix of trails and roads.
- Kids Run: A free event for children aged 2–10, covering approximately 400 meters.
- Virtual 5k Run: A remote participation option.
Course & Venue
The course takes place at Riverfront Park, combining trail and road surfaces. Restrooms are available on-site. Local Scouts will provide at least one water stop along the route.
Registration & Logistics
Early registration is encouraged online for a fee of $25. Registration on the event weekend costs $30 and is only accepted via cash or check. Packet pickup is offered on Friday before the event and on Saturday morning at the park's pavilion before the race begins.
Awards
An awards ceremony is held after the race. Age group awards are given for top men's and women's finishers in multiple categories. Overall top male and female finishers also receive a special prize.
