ADK 5k : Lake George, NY
The ADK 5k is a chip-timed road race that starts and finishes in front of Adirondack Brewing Company at 33 Canada Street, Lake George, NY. The out-and-back course runs along the southern banks of Lake George and offers panoramic early-fall views. Hills are minimal; the largest climb on the course is a 60 foot rise between Beach Road and 9L at Garrisons.
Race registration includes race entry for the 5k, chip timing, unique race swag such as ADK 5k race socks and a branded can glass, and options for team swag upgrades. Teams of ten or more receive special team swag. Solo entrants can earn team swag by donating twenty dollars to the Lake George Land Conservancy. Over-21 finishers may receive a beer from Adirondack Brewing Company, typically the Bobcat Blonde pilsner.
Post-race activities take place at Adirondack Brewing Company and include live music, food trucks, and yard games. Parking is on-street only; there is no parking at the brewery or the nearby distillery. The village requests that runners use legal spaces on nearby back streets such as Dieskau Street, Mohican Street, and Phillips Street.
Awards are given in ten-year age increments beginning under ten and continuing to 70 plus, with overall first through third places for men and women. Race day photos are available free to download. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
