Achilles Hope & Possibility 4M Presented by TD
The Achilles Hope & Possibility 4M is a 4 miles road race in Central Park that emphasizes disability inclusion and adaptive sport. It is the 24th annual edition and is presented by TD with support from Achilles International and other partners. The race is a scored event, awards finisher medals, and qualifies for the 9+1 program.
The event commemorates the anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act and serves as a precursor to Disability Pride Month. It includes free kids races for children ages 2 to 11; registration is required for the kids races.
Accessibility and accommodations are provided. The race lists multiple AWD award categories, including handcycle, pushrim wheelchair, ambulatory AWD, duo teams, lower limb loss, mobility impaired, and visually impaired. Duo Teams must consist of a Pusher and a Pushee, meet age and registration requirements, and follow safety rules such as continuous control of the customized racing wheelchair; motors and gears are prohibited.
