Dam Spooky 5k 10k 15k Half Marathon
The Dam Spooky running event takes place at Hansen Dam in Lake View Terrace. This event is held on an open course, meaning participants share the path with other pedestrians, runners, and cyclists. The route consists of an out and back course that is designed to be easy to follow, featuring one small hill located approximately 0.6 miles from the start line.
Participants can choose from four different distances:
- 5k (one loop)
- 10k (two loops)
- 15k (three loops)
- Half Marathon (three loops of 4.36 miles each)
An aid station is available at every loop, providing water cups, water bottles, Gatorade, and gels. There is a general time limit of 3 hours and 15 minutes for the event. The start and finish area is located on the path across the street from the Hansen Dam Skate Park. Free parking is available in the designated lot near the skate park and restrooms, though parking in the Discovery Cube lot is prohibited.
Registered participants receive custom finisher medals, drawstring goodie bags, and access to an assortment of snacks and samples. Result timing is provided, with data typically posted within 12 to 24 hours after the conclusion of the event. Free photos and videos are also included for all participants.
