Abe's Amble 10K and 5K, Springfield Illinois
Abe's Amble is a road race held at the Illinois State Fairgrounds in Springfield. The listed date for the event is August 23, 2026. The event takes place on the last day of the Illinois State Fair in August and attracts runners from Illinois and surrounding states.

Packet pickup is scheduled the day before the race at Erin's Pavilion and includes a small expo with sponsor booths. Shirts are guaranteed only for participants who registered by the stated shirt deadline; additional race swag is distributed while supplies last. Limited race day packet pickup is available at the fairgrounds.
A finisher area provides bottled water, bananas, and other refreshments. Race medals are awarded at the finish line for both the 10K and the 5K. Results stream live online and participants who opted in can receive a text message with their finish time. Awards for the 10K include Top Overall male and female, Top Masters male and female, and top three male and female finishers in standard age groups. The 5K awards include Top Overall male and female and top three in the same age groups.
