Abe's Amble
Abe's Amble takes place in Springfield, Illinois on August 23, 2026. The route runs through the fairgrounds, Lincoln Park, Oak Ridge Cemetery, and returns to the fairgrounds. The 10K course is USATF certified.

Registration opened March 14, 2026 and closed June 20, 2026 for the listed entries. The registration fee for events shown was $30.00. Registrants who register by July 12 are guaranteed a race shirt; no extra shirts will be ordered after that date. There are no refunds; if the live event cannot be held, registrations will be converted to the virtual race.
Packet pickup is scheduled on Saturday, August 22, from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at Lincoln Park Pavilion (1601 N Fifth St) in Springfield with a small expo and sponsor tables. Limited race day packet pickup is available at the fairgrounds the morning of the race.
Races begin with a traditional mass start format. The finisher area will provide bottled water, bananas, and other refreshments. Race medals are provided at the finish for both the 10K and 5K.
Results stream live online during the morning and participants who opted in will receive a text with their time. Virtual participants may submit times beginning the Monday after the race for one week; virtual entries appear in results but are not eligible for age group awards. Virtual or live participants will not receive shipped packets. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
