Abacela Wine Run 5k
The Abacela Wine Run 5k takes place at the Abacela Winery in Roseburg, Oregon. The event features a course that starts and finishes at the winery, providing a tour of the local vineyards. Participants navigate a 5 km route consisting of cross-country style terrain with sections of uneven footing. While both runners and walkers are permitted on the course, the use of strollers is not recommended due to the ground conditions. Dogs are not allowed on the property.
Registration for the event includes several items for participants:
- 5 km chip-timed bib
- Ring-spun cotton T-shirt
- Finisher medal
- Shatterproof collapsible wine glass
- A pour of wine for participants aged 21 and over
Results are posted online following the completion of the race. The event recognizes top performers with awards for the top three finishers in various ten-year age categories, ranging from 19 and under to 80 and over. Competitive runners must start in the first wave to maintain eligibility for these awards. Award winners can collect their medals at the registration table on the day of the event.
The Abacela Wine Run 5k partners with the United Community Action Network (UCAN) Food Bank. This organization works to address food insecurity in Douglas County through emergency food distribution, mobile pantries, and nutrition education.
Packet pickup is available on the morning of the race, beginning one hour before the event starts. Minors are permitted to participate with a modified registration that excludes wine-related items. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
