The event is hosted by the United States Army Warrant Officer (USAWOA) Longrifle Chapter. This organization comprises active and retired Warrant Officers and aims to recognize excellence, provide mentorship and scholarship opportunities, and represent the history of the Warrant Officer Cohort.

The event is based at Rocky's Pub in Frankfort, Kentucky, utilizing the area of the old Ducker's Golf Course. Awards are presented to the top three overall male and female finishers in the form of plaques. A separate 'Most Patriotic' plaque award is also offered, with participants encouraged to dress to display their patriotism.
