A Healthy KSU 3K and Health Fair
The A Healthy KSU 3K and Health Fair is an annual event organized by the DMTL Nonprofit Organization in collaboration with Kentucky State University, the KSU National Alumni Association, and the City of Frankfort. The event takes place at the KSU Administrative Services Building (ASB) parking lot in Frankfort, Kentucky. This initiative focuses on highlighting healthy lifestyles and addressing health disparities within the African American community and among KSU students and alumni.
Participants can take part in a 3K running race. Registration is available for general participants, while students can register at no cost, provided they present a valid student ID during packet pickup. The event serves as a platform to raise awareness for various health issues, including heart disease, high blood pressure, and diabetes, while supporting scholarships and health education campaigns.
Following the race, a health fair is held on-site. The fair includes several community resources and activities:
- 3K running race
- Free health screenings
- Awards presentations
- Music and giveaways
- Educational resources from local hospitals and community organizations
The program includes an opening ceremony and a collective warm-up session before the race begins. The post-race segment features performances, contests, and representatives from campus and community organizations. Food and various activities are provided to attendees throughout the midday conclusion of the event. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
