A Healthy KSU 3K & Health Fair
DMTL, a 501c3 nonprofit that focuses on health equity and mentorship, presents the annual A Healthy KSU 3K & Health Fair on August 22, 2026, at the Kentucky State University campus in Frankfort, KY. The event pairs a community 3K run/walk with an on-site health fair that offers free health screenings, free food, music, giveaways, and activities.
The initiative aims to decrease health disparities among KSU students, alumni, and the Frankfort community and to promote health equity. The event is organized in collaboration with Kentucky State University, the KSU National Alumni Association, the City of Frankfort, local hospitals, and community-based organizations. Previous editions have raised funds to support cancer care and research, awarded scholarships to KSU students, and delivered health screenings and education campaigns to the local community.
The program includes an in-person 3K and a virtual walk/run option. General registration carries a fee of $25.00; student registration is free but requires a valid student ID at packet pickup. The event highlights health issues that disproportionately affect African American communities, including heart disease, high blood pressure, type 2 diabetes, several cancers, maternal and infant health concerns, asthma, stroke, and obesity, and it offers resources and education intended to support longer term community health outcomes.
