9/11 Never Forget Trail Run/Walk 5k
The fourth annual 9/11 "Never Forget 5K Trail Run/Walk" is scheduled for September 12, 2026, at Fillmore County Park in Brighton, Michigan. The event is presented by Livingston County Veteran Services and Howell Recreation and honors those who lost their lives on 9/11, as well as military veterans and first responders.
The course is a trail and is not paved; all-terrain strollers are recommended. All participants receive a finisher medal. Runners who register on or before August 14 will receive a t-shirt. Proceeds, after event-related costs, will be used to purchase AEDs for as many local American Legion and VFW posts as possible.
Packet pickup is available in advance at the Oceola Community Center, 1661 N. Latson Rd, Howell, MI 48843, on September 9 and 10, and again on September 11. Race-day packet pickup will also be available on site. Registration details and the registration fee are set by the organizer.
Accurate chip times and current overall positions will be texted to participants and available live on the event site. The race will be timed by the Michigan Running Foundation. Only service dogs are requested to attend. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
