9/11 Heroes Run - Pittsburgh, PA
The 9/11 Heroes Run in Youngwood, PA, is a community event held to honor the heroes of September 11th and those who have served in the military and first responder roles. The event provides a platform for veterans, active duty personnel, first responders, and families to come together.
Participants can choose from several event categories:
- 5K Run
- 5K Ruck
- 1-Mile Run/Walk
The 5K Run and 5K Ruck categories offer specific registration options for individual participants as well as specialized divisions for active duty military and first responders. The rucking division is held in partnership with GORUCK and involves participants walking or running while carrying weighted rucksacks. This sport is based on special forces training, and those registered in the GORUCK division receive an exclusive patch.
The 1-Mile Run/Walk is held as the Richard A. Fry Memorial. Registration for the 5K Run and 1-Mile events includes a shirt, while the rucking division includes a specialized patch.
