About the race
The 9/11 Heroes Run in Gonzales, Louisiana is a community event held at River Parishes Community College on September 12, 2026. The event honors the heroes of 9/11 and those who have served since, and brings together veterans, active duty service members, first responders, families of the fallen, and other community members.
Multiple event formats are offered on the same day, including running, rucking, and a one-mile option. Registration is required for each event; most event registrations open May 26, 2026, while volunteer registration opens June 2, 2026. Some registration periods close on July 1, 2026, and other options remain open through the event day. Registration fees vary by event and include free options for the Honor Bib Rider and volunteer roles.
TMF partners with GORUCK to provide rucking divisions. Rucking involves walking or running while carrying a weighted rucksack, based on special forces training. Participants registered in the GORUCK division receive the event year TMF GORUCK patch.
