5K9 Mutt Strut for PAWS
The 5K9 Mutt Strut for PAWS is a community event held in McAlester, Oklahoma. Organized by Sewell Animal Hospital, the event serves as a fundraiser for PAWS of Pittsburg County. The proceeds support programs that provide medical care for animals when owners face financial difficulties.
Participants can choose from the following event distances:
- 5 km
- 1 km Fun Run
The race takes place on a USATF certified course and is a USATF sanctioned event. The start and location for the activities is Spaceship Earth Coffee on East Choctaw Avenue. Beyond the running events, the day includes pet-focused activities such as a best pet trick contest and a best pet costume contest.
For those who wish to support the cause without participating in the physical run, a "Cat Nap" registration option is available. Packet pick-up is organized on the day before the event at Sewell Animal Hospital and also on the morning of the race at the event site.
