19th Annual 5K Run & Walk for OPC Meals on Wheels
The 5K Run & Walk for OPC Meals on Wheels is a community event held in Rochester, Michigan. The event features two main categories for participants:
- 5K Timed
- 5K Untimed
The course begins and ends at the Older Persons' Commission (OPC) Social & Activity Center. Participants travel along the Clinton River Trail, which provides a scenic route for both runners and walkers. This family-oriented event is open to individuals of various ages and physical levels, including those using strollers.
Registered participants receive several event items, including a race bib, an event T-shirt (subject to registration deadlines), and access to post-race snacks. A pancake breakfast is also provided for participants following the conclusion of the activity.
The event serves as a benefit for the Meals on Wheels program, which provides nutritious meals and wellness checks for homebound seniors in the community. New for this edition is the introduction of peer-to-peer fundraising, allowing participants to create personal pages to collect donations. Prizes are awarded to the individual who raises the highest amount of funds. Early packet pick-up is available at the OPC main entrance on the Thursday and Friday preceding the event.
