2026 5K River Run for the Fund
The event is a certified 5K road run and walk held at Ocean Beach. The course follows paved roads along the seawall overlooking Long Island Sound and New London Harbor, with minimal traffic and a flat profile. The course has been professionally measured and is a certified 5K.
Registration is held near the Ocean Beach Boardwalk at the rear of the main building; bathrooms are available upstairs from registration. The start and finish are located in the Ocean Beach parking lot toward the rear. Free parking is available to those attending Ocean Beach for the event.
Entry fees vary by registration date: online pre registration is $30 until September 4, and online registration is $35 from September 5 through race day. Race day registration is $35. Pre registered runners receive a 25th Anniversary Edition t shirt; sizes are indicated on the online form.
Post race offerings include a food truck serving pizza, salad and desserts free to participants, refreshments and platter items, and a raffle that immediately follows the event. Awards are presented by overall and age category with cash prizes for the top three overall men and women and gift certificates or medallions in age divisions. Runners may win in only one category.
Sponsorships are available with recognition on event materials; sponsorship contributions should be received by August 23 to be included on printed items. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
