5K Walk/Run for the K9 Heroes
The event takes place at Bourne High School in Bourne, Massachusetts, and features an in-person 5K walk/run and a virtual 5K option. The 3.1-mile course begins and ends at the high school and is currently in the process of being certified by USA Track and Field, with certification review underway and full certification expected by mid-July 2026.
The day includes an awards ceremony honoring working K9s and their handlers, followed by the 5K walk/run. Dogs are permitted to accompany participants on the course. Runners and walkers of all ages may participate. Race awards will be given in Male, Female, and Children’s divisions for first through third place. Children under 12 may participate for free. The first 300 registered participants will receive a free race T-shirt.
Registration details differ by entry type: the in-person event lists a registration fee of $25 and specific registration open and close dates; the virtual 5K also has a $25 fee and separate registration dates.
