May 5K for Hear Your Song: Run, Walk, or Roll
This event is a free 5K that supports Hear Your Song as it launches a pilot Camp Hear Your Song. Participants may take part in person in Prospect Park on May 17 or complete the distance virtually anywhere between May 17 and May 31.
The in-person meeting location is the Soldiers' and Sailors' Memorial Arch at Grand Army Plaza just outside Prospect Park. The in-person route runs almost one complete Inner Loop of Prospect Park and finishes with a picnic near Meadowport Arch.
Registration has no fee. Organizers request that participants share personal fundraising pages to help reach a collective goal of $10,000; a suggested individual fundraising target is $500. Fundraising incentives include a musical shoutout on social media for those who raise at least $100. Additional awards will be given to the participants who raise the most donations from unique donors and to the participant with the highest donation total; those awards include a gift certificate and a Hear Your Song T-shirt.
The event is offered in two formats to accommodate different locations and schedules.
