The 5k for 5p- is a run/walk held on Saturday, May 2, 2026, in Goldsboro, North Carolina. The course starts and finishes near 3000 Wayne Memorial Drive, Goldsboro, NC 27534. The event promotes awareness for Cri du Chat Syndrome, a genetic deletion disorder affecting a portion of chromosome 5. May 5 is recognized as Cri du Chat Day and the surrounding week is Cri du Chat Awareness Week.
Entry and race details
The main distance is 5k. Registration fee is $30. A race shirt is included with registration but is not guaranteed for registrations completed after April 17. Registration closes on May 2, 2026 at 11:59pm EDT. The event is open to participants of all ages and paces; strollers are encouraged and dogs are permitted on the course. Awards are given to the top three overall male and female finishers and to the top three male and female finishers in each age group: 15 & under, 16-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, and 70 & over.
