5k for 5p- is a 5K run/walk on May 1, 2027 at Dee’s Memorial Park, 403 NW Railroad St, Pikeville, NC 27863, United States. The event raises awareness for Cri du Chat Syndrome, a genetic deletion disorder that can cause delayed development and low muscle tone. May 5 is Cri du Chat Day and the week around May 5 is recognized as Cri du Chat Awareness Week.

The event format is a community run/walk open to participants of all ages and paces. Strollers are encouraged on the course and dogs are welcome. Registration opens November 22, 2026 and closes May 1, 2027. The registration fee is $30. A T-shirt is included with registration but T-shirts are not guaranteed for registrations completed after April 16.

Awards are presented to the top three overall male and female finishers. Additional awards go to the top three male and female finishers in each age group: 15 and under, 16 to 19, 20 to 29, 30 to 39, 40 to 49, 50 to 59, 60 to 69, and 70 and over.
