5K Dokie Run
The 5K Dokie Run focuses on community and health through a dedicated running and walking event located at Dam No. 1 Woods East in Wheeling, Illinois. The event is organized by Flying Squirrels and benefits KAN-WIN, an organization that works to empower and uplift the local community. Participants can choose between two main distances:
- 5K Run
- 1 Mile Walk
The course is situated at 621 W Dundee Rd and offers a scenic environment for both runners and walkers. Registered participants are invited to a complimentary pasta dinner the evening before the event at the First Korean United Methodist Church. Packet pickup is also available during this time or on the morning of the activity at the race site.
All participants receive an official race T-shirt and a special gift consisting of Madeca Cream, while supplies last. Those completing the 5K distance also receive a finisher's medal. A cash prize pool of $1,000 is available for the top 15 male and top 15 female finishers in the 5K run, with individual prizes ranging from $5 to $100.
