The DeAngelo Williams Foundation 53 Strong DeAthlon 2026
The event is the seventh annual DeAthlon at Williams Rushing Farm in Monroe, NC. It is a combined run-and-ride event organized by the DeAngelo Williams Foundation and includes a memory challenge along the bike courses. Participation is available individually or as part of a team.
The event format offers a standalone 5K run or a DeAthlon that pairs a run component (listed as 3.4 miles for the DeAthlon format) with one of three supported bike routes. Riders may also register for only a bike distance. All bike routes are clearly marked and include refueling stations, SAG support, and timed segments as noted below.
- The Tiger Trail 20 Mile Ride with one rest stop and one timed segment
- The Carolina Cruise 34 Mile Ride with one rest stop and two timed segments
- The Legacy Length 53 Mile Ride with two rest stops and three timed segments
Cyclists start together in a mass start, and DeAthletes may begin the ride after finishing the run. Combined time for the run and the timed bike segments determines the Top 3 male and Top 3 female finishers for each DeAthlon distance; winners receive a custom DeAthlon football signed by DeAngelo Williams.
Registration benefits listed by the organizer include a swag bag while quantities last, a finisher medal for the first 300 DeAthlon registrants, brunch for ride and DeAthlon participants, and an event T-shirt guaranteed until July 10th. The event supports the 53 Strong for Sandra program, which provides free mammography screenings and helps fund follow up appointments and treatment when needed. Fundraising incentives include an opportunity to train with DeAngelo Williams for participants who raise at least $100 by the stated deadline.
