5 Towns 5K Run/Walk for Israel
The 5 Towns 5K Run/Walk for Israel is a community athletic event held at North Woodmere Park in North Woodmere, New York. Presented by The Israel Chesed Center, the event supports various initiatives including aid for displaced persons and medical volunteers. The center serves as a community response organization based in the Five Towns area.
Participants can choose from the following distances:
- 5 km Run/Walk
- 440 Yards Kids Fun Run
The 5 km course begins within North Woodmere Park, extends into the adjacent residential neighborhood, and returns to the park for the finish. The Kids Fun Run takes place in the park's parking lot and concludes at the same finish line used for the 5 km race.
All participants who register for the event receive a t-shirt. Children participating in the Kids Fun Run receive a medal upon finishing. Awards are presented to the top three overall male and female finishers, as well as the top three male and female finishers in specific age divisions ranging from 9 and under to 85 and over. Bib pick-up and same-day registration are available at the park's administration building located at the northeast end of the parking lot.
