5 Peaks Whitemud at Whitemud Park

This event is part of the 5 Peaks Northern Alberta Trail Running Series and takes place in Whitemud Park in Edmonton's river valley. The course is noted as one of the more challenging in the series, featuring hard pack, bridge crossings, fast singletrack and a downhill run to the finish.

Runners can expect technical sections that require agility and alertness, including roots, rocks and sharp climbs and descents. The route includes flowing singletrack that leads down to the ravine.

  • Kids 1 km
  • Kids 3 km
  • Sport run or hike, approximately 8.3 km
  • Enduro run or hike, single loop, approximately 13.4 km

Race distances and maps are subject to change based on trail conditions up to race day. Washroom facilities are available at the start and finish area. Spectators are welcome and most viewing is from the start and finish area. Parking is limited.

The event is cup free. Water and electrolyte drinks are available at the start, finish and at one or more aid stations. Swag and optional finisher medals are not included in registration cost and must be picked up at the event. An awards ceremony is held after results are compiled; medals are awarded by gender and age category for each distance and to the overall top three male and female finishers.
