Event

This is the first race in the 5 Peaks Northern Alberta Trail Running Series held at Terwillegar Park in Southwest Edmonton. The park covers over 186 hectares in the river valley. The event includes multiple race distances and a post-race awards ceremony. Finisher swag and medals are available for purchase on site or in advance. Awards are given to the top three finishers by gender in each age and distance category, plus the top three overall. Medals are wooden and made in Canada. Registration options include a regional series pass covering multiple events.

Course and distances

The course loops hills and single-track trails and includes mud, technical sections, steep descents, riverside climbs, roots, rocks, and sharp up and down hills. Trail conditions may require distance or route changes up to the day of the race. The event is cup-free; water and electrolyte drink are available at the start and finish and at one or more aid stations. Participants expected to be out longer than an hour should carry a receptacle for drinks and nutrition.
