The opening race of the Northern Alberta 5 Peaks series takes place at Terwillegar Park. Runners tackle a technical course with hills and single track in the river valley. Distances for all ages are offered, from a kids' 1km to a 16.2km Enduro.

5 Peaks - Terwillegar Dog Park

This trail running event is the first race in the 5 Peaks Northern Alberta Trail Running Series. It takes place at Terwillegar Park in Southwest Edmonton.

The course navigates the rugged terrain of Edmonton's river valley. It features hills, single track, and mud. Runners can expect many technical trail sections with steep descents and impressive riverside climbs. The event is held on popular trails also used by families and dog walkers.

The offered race distances are:

Kids - 1 km
Kids - 3 km
Sport (Run or Hike) - 8.1 km
Enduro (Run or Hike) - 16.2 km

The event is cup-free, so participants must carry their own receptacle for liquids at aid stations. Washrooms and a food station are available at the start/finish area. Sustainably sourced wooden medals made in Canada can be purchased. Parking is limited. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
