5 Peaks - Gold Bar
The event takes place at Gold Bar Park in Edmonton, located east of downtown along the North Saskatchewan River. The park includes hard pack trails, technical singletrack, and Esso Hill, and is used for outdoor activity in both summer and winter.
Course options include races for children and adults. Distances listed for this event are:
- 1 km Kid's Race
- 3 km Kid's Race
- 6.4 km Sport Run or Hike
- 12.9 km Enduro Run or Hike
The course begins with about 2 kilometres of hard pack trail before climbing toward Goldstick Park and entering singletrack. An aid station is located at the top of a steep climb. After the aid station the route returns to singletrack, flows back toward the park, proceeds out to 50 Street, and then loops back to the park.
Race logistics and facilities are provided on site. The event is cup free; water and electrolyte drink are available at the start and finish and at one or more aid stations, and participants planning to be out longer than an hour should carry a receptacle for liquids. Washroom facilities are at the start and finish area. Parking is limited. Spectators are welcome and best viewing is from the start and finish area.
Swag and optional finisher medals are available for purchase through Race Roster or on site while supplies last. Medals are awarded to the top three in each gender and age category for each distance, and to the top three male and female overall. 2027 Series pass registration opens October 15.
