Event Information

The 5 K's for Kölsch is a run that kicks off the Halfway Crooks Kölsch Fest in Atlanta. The event takes place on Saturday, April 18, 2026.

The Course

The run is a 5k distance, but is structured as five separate 1k routes. Participants run or walk each 1k segment. The three distinct 1k routes are marked, and participants complete five of them in a suggested order or their own combination. There is a short distance between the finish of one route and the start of the next. The event is not chip-timed or scored, and there are no top-finisher or age group awards. Participants are recommended to use a GPS watch or timing app to track their own time.

Post-Run Details

After completing the run, participants redeem their race bib for five 20cl pours of Farina Kölsch in the HC Biergarten, served in the traditional style from Cologne, Germany. The beer garden opens early for runners and walkers. A post-run snack and water are available.

Registration and Logistics

Registration includes early entry to the Kölsch Fest and the opportunity to pre-order a limited event tee. Check-in is at an orange tent behind Halfway Crooks on Reed Street, 15 minutes before a participant's selected start time. The event is held rain or shine. Paid parking is available at the Summerhill Lot A, with free parking on neighborhood streets. Dogs are allowed on the course, and race-day registration is available if the event is not sold out. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
