4th of July Road Race - Pittsfield
The event is an out-and-back 5K held on the parade route of Downtown Pittsfield’s Fourth of July Hometown Parade on July 4, 2026. The course starts near 500 Wahconah Street and finishes at Wahconah Park at 105 Wahconah Street. Most of the route follows the parade route through downtown Pittsfield.
Registration fees are tiered: $35 through July 1 and $40 from July 1 through July 3. Registration closes on July 3. Berkshire County students in grades K-12 register free. There is no day-of-race registration and no refunds or deferments; an online processing fee applies.
Bib pick up is available in advance at the Berkshire Running Center on July 2 and July 3, and bib pick up is offered at Wahconah Park on race day. The first registered adult entrants and youth entrants receive technical shirts while supplies last. The race supports community wellness programs and includes corporate and team challenges.
Prizes include cash awards for the top three overall finishers and awards for the top three in standard age divisions from 10 and under through 70 and over. A corporate challenge trophy and a team challenge trophy are awarded to the top team based on fastest cumulative times.
Additional notes: no dogs or pets are allowed; headphones are discouraged for safety; wheelchairs and disabled push strollers are welcome with advance notice for accommodations. Restrooms and port a potties are available at Wahconah Park and there is a water station at the start and finish. Parking is restricted on Wahconah Street and municipal lots off North Street are available roughly 1.5 miles from the start. If the event is canceled or postponed for reasons beyond the organizer's control, the race may be converted to a virtual event and participant goods mailed.
