4Star 4-Mile Race
The 4Star 4-Mile Race is an annual event held in Detroit to honor military veterans. The race follows an out and back loop course through the Corktown neighborhood, starting at Dean Savage Memorial Park. The route passes notable landmarks including the area known as "The Corner," the Michigan Train Station, and Mexicantown.
Participants run on the same course and at the same time as the Detroit Veterans Day Parade. This unique setup allows runners to move alongside marching bands, Junior ROTC students, and veterans from various eras. Registration is available for several categories:
- 4 Miles (Open registration)
- 4 Miles (Veteran or Active Duty Military)
- 4 Miles (Ruck Division)
- 4 Miles (Virtual Race)
The Ruck Division is a specific category where participants receive a commemorative ruck patch upon finishing. For those unable to attend in person, the virtual option allows participants to log their results on a digital leaderboard.
Awards are presented to the top overall and masters male and female finishers, as well as the top overall military or veteran finishers. Age group awards are also distributed based on ten-year increments. Early packet pick-up is hosted at Batch Brewing Company, with race day pick-up located at the IBEW building. Proceeds from the event support the annual Detroit Veterans Day Parade. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
