4 for the 4th! (Avon, NC)

The event is the third annual July 3 community run and walk in Avon, held in Kinnakeet Shores on Hatteras Island. The main distance is a four mile course through Kinnakeet Shores at 41184 Kinakeet Blvd., Avon, NC 27915. A short children’s event called the 1776 Dash is also offered.

All registered participants receive an eco-friendly cup for use on the course, an icy cold towel at the finish, a finisher's medal, a performance t-shirt and a breakfast and post race party. The event is organized in part to support local non-profit partners: Hatteras Island Meals, Hatteras Island CERT Team and Chicamacomico Life Saving Station.

Registration details differ by event. For the four mile event registration opens 03/31/2026 and closes 06/01/2026 with a registration fee of $40.00. For the 1776 Dash registration opens 03/31/2026 and closes 07/02/2026 with a registration fee of $15.00.
