Event Overview
The 2 Rivers Backyard Ultra is an endurance event held in Echuca, Northern Victoria. Participants run a repetitive loop course in a format where they must complete the distance within a specific timeframe to continue to the next lap. The event follows the backyard ultra format, continuing until only one person remains to complete a final solo lap.
The Course
The route is a scenic out and back course that utilizes the scenic drive trail. Participants run alongside the Murray River before moving onto a paved section that follows the bridge leading toward New South Wales. Runners turn around at a landmark known as the Blue Tree. The return leg involves a hill before re-entering the main event area from the opposite direction.
Facilities and Support
An event village is established in a major carpark area where participants can set up marquees and tents for resting and refueling between laps. The aid station provides various supplies including:
- Water and electrolyte drinks
- Fruit, lollies, chips, and noodles
- Hot soup
The village includes a camp kitchen equipped with a microwave, toaster, kettle, and sandwich press for participants to prepare their own food.
