19 for 19 Challenge - A Walk for Anya's Wish
The 19 for 19 Challenge is a fundraising walk held on Sunday 18th October 2026 in New England gorge country. The event covers properties named Victoria Park, Mt McDonald and By Gorge, with the route finishing at Dangar's Falls. Check-in and T-shirt collection take place at the Armidale Visitors Information Centre. Buses are organised to transport participants to and from the event site; there is no parking at the site to protect the paddocks.
The event raises funds for "Anya's Wish," a research project supporting the Children's Cancer Institute. Funds already raised have supported the development of methods to grow osteosarcoma cells in the laboratory and the investigation of novel drug treatments. The organisers have set a fundraising goal of $200,000 for the 2026 challenge.
Entry options include two walk distances and different pricing categories for adults, students, children and families. Entry fees include a T-shirt if selected and snacks for the day; bucket hats are available to purchase during registration at additional cost.
