The event is a summer running festival in Pennypack Park with races on paved bike paths along Pennypack Creek. Distances offered include:
- 26.2 miles full marathon
- 13.1 miles half marathon
- 10 km on an easier section of the park
The course stays mostly on a shaded bike trail with no vehicle traffic and includes a midsection of short steep rolling hills and a trail segment known as Mount Cuckoo. Aid and support include 13 aid stations for the full marathon and 6 for the half, water and Gatorade at each fluid stop, energy gels available at several mile points, disposable chip timing, and mile markers. Medical support includes an on site EMT ambulance and support bikers on course.
Logistics note that packet pickup is on race day only at the Ed Kelly Amphitheater. Time limit for both the full and half is 6 hours 30 minutes; walkers are welcome for the half but the marathon is not recommended for walkers. A portion of entry fees supports Pennypack Park and local charities.
Post race activity takes place at the Ed Kelly Amphitheater with a popup beergarden, German themed entertainment, food and a finisher medal for every finisher.
