The event offers both a half marathon and a full marathon on a paved bike path that follows Pennypack Creek inside Pennypack Park. The course is mostly shaded and mostly flat, with a midsection that includes several short steep rolling hills and a trail segment known locally as Mount Cuckoo. There is no open traffic on the course; runners pass through tree-lined sections and creek views within the city limits.
Support on course includes 13 aid stations for the full marathon and 6 for the half, with Gatorade and water available and energy gels at mile 8 and 21. Timing uses a disposable chip system and mile markers are placed along the route. The published time limit is 6 hours 30 minutes for both distances; walkers are welcome for the half marathon but the marathon is not recommended for walkers. The race director may shorten the event to a half marathon or enforce stricter cutoffs based on temperature or conditions.
Entry fees change on May 3, 2026; refunds are available up to 30 days before race day minus a fee, and official bib transfers are permitted until five days before the event. Every finisher receives a medal; overall winners and age-group top finishers receive German-themed awards.
A German-themed post race party takes place at the Ed Kelly Amphitheater with food, nonalcoholic beer included with entry, live accordion music, and a pop-up beergarden. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
