An organized road race at Pennypack Park in Philadelphia with multiple distance options and a finish area at the Ed Kelly Amphitheater. The course follows the paved Pennypack Creek bike path, largely shaded with a mostly flat profile and a midsection of short steep rolling hills and a trail section known as Mount Cuckoo. The route has no regular traffic and offers extended stretches of trees and creek views.
Distances:
- 26.2 miles full marathon
- 13.1 miles half marathon
- 10 km new in 2027 on an easier park section
Aid and services include 13 aid stations for the full (6 for the half), water and Gatorade at all fluid stops, gels available at specified miles, EMT ambulance on site, and support bikers on course. Disposable chip timing and mile markers are used. Time limit for both full and half is 6 h 30 min; walkers are welcome in the half but the marathon is not recommended for walkers. A portion of entry fees supports the park and local charities.
Post race activities take place at the amphitheater with a popup beergarden, non alcoholic beer and bratwurst included with entry, live Bavarian themed entertainment and a costume contest. Every finisher receives a medal; overall and age group awards feature German themed prizes. Race packets are available on race day only at the Ed Kelly Amphitheater.
