11 Tors Challenge
The 11 Tors Challenge is a community-run walking event across Dartmoor organised and run by volunteers from Dartmoor Search & Rescue Team (Tavistock). It takes place on Saturday 19 September 2026 and acts as a fundraiser for local services and for the Donate for Dartmoor fund.
Routes offered this year include:
- Main Event about 11 miles
- Mini Explorers about 5 miles
- Marathon distance about 16 miles, includes unmanned areas and a 16:30 cut off
All routes cross rough terrain and require a basic level of navigation; they are unsuitable for pushchairs. Staggered start times are used to spread participants along the routes and at arrival points. Entry fees include a £2 donation per person to the Donate for Dartmoor fund. Standard entry prices are £17 per adult and £7 per child. Under 18s must register with an over 18 in their group. Numbers are limited and registration closes on 31 August 2026 or earlier if capacity is reached.
Additional event notes include non refundable entry donations, a required mobile phone number for day contact that will not be retained after the event, and that buggies, rollerblades and wheelchairs are not permitted. Well behaved dogs are allowed and remain the responsibility of their owners. Photographs and names of participants may be used to publicise future events. The event has a weather warnings procedure where amber warnings may cancel the half marathon and red warnings cancel all routes. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
