Race Series Overview
The Memorial Hermann 10 for Texas is an annual race series produced by The Woodlands Township Parks and Recreation Department. Held in October, the event starts and finishes at Northshore Park and includes multiple distance options. The featured 10-mile race is a USA Track and Field (USATF) sanctioned event with a certified course.
Available Distances
The event offers three distinct race categories:
- 10-mile Memorial Hermann 10 for Texas (capped at 850 participants)
- 5K (3.1 miles) Armadillo Run (capped at 500 participants)
- 1-mile One 4 Texas Kids' Fun Run (capped at 200 participants)
Participant Information
The 10-mile and 5K races are chip-timed events and are recommended for participants aged 10 and older. The One 4 Texas is an untimed, non-competitive 1-mile run designed for children, generally recommended for ages 5 and up. All participants receive a race bib, a participant shirt, and a finisher's medal. Those in the 10-mile race also receive a hat.
The course has a strict time limit of 16 minutes per mile, and the finish line remains open for three hours. To ensure safety, certain items are prohibited on the course, including strollers, baby joggers, bicycles, and pets.
Amenities and Festivities
There are five hydration stations along the route providing water or sports drinks. Medical support is available on the course and at the finish line. After the races, a post-race party is held at Northshore Park featuring live music, food, and beverages for the athletes. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
