About the race
The EDP Maratona de Lisboa is a World Athletics Gold Label marathon on 10 October 2026 with a 42 km route and a six hour time limit. The race has a maximum of 18,000 participants and is part of the European Marathon Classics circuit. The course starts in Carcavelos in front of NOVA School of Business & Economics and finishes at Praça do Comércio, with a route described as running along the sea and the river. Kit pickup (dorsal, technical t-shirt and bag) takes place at the Sport Expo in FIL on 8 and 9 October from 10:00 to 20:00.
Finishers receive a medal. Entry fees change with registration phases: the first 2,000 entries cost €70, entries 2,001–5,000 cost €95, thereafter the fee is €130; a transaction fee of €4 applies. Registrations are personal and non-transferable; in exceptional, documented cases (illness, injury or pregnancy) transfer to the next edition may be allowed. The organization recommends CP regional trains for access to the Carcavelos start. The train from Cais do Sodré takes about 30 minutes and the station is about 1 km from the start.
