Funchal Marathon
The Funchal Marathon is an athletic event organized by the Madeira Athletics Association. Located in the capital of the Madeira archipelago, the competition offers participants various distances set against a backdrop of coastal and urban scenery.
Participants can choose from three distinct race distances:
- Marathon: A 42 km race.
- Half-Marathon: A 21 km race.
- Mini Marathon: An 8 km race.
The event holds a World Athletics (WA) certificate, ensuring that the courses meet international standards for measurement and organization. The routes are designed with specific altimetry profiles and include designated refreshment stations to support runners throughout the duration of their respective races.
