Cracovia Royal Half Marathon
The Cracovia Royal Half Marathon is an international mass running event held in Kraków. The race features a unique finish line located on the main floor inside the TAURON Arena Kraków, which is the largest indoor arena in Poland. The closing of the race takes place in a darkened setting within the arena, accompanied by cheering supporters in the stands.
The event has a participant limit of 18,000 runners. The course is officially certified and covers a distance of 21.0975 km. Participants must complete the distance within a time limit of 3 hours from crossing the start line. Intermediate time limits are also enforced; runners who do not reach the 10 km mark within 90 minutes are required to leave the course.
The infrastructure for runners includes:
- Refreshment points located near the 4 km and 13 km marks, offering water, isotonic drinks, fruit, and sweets.
- Revitalization points at the 9 km and 17 km marks providing water.
- Medical points at refreshment stations, as well as at the start and finish lines.
- Toilets located behind each refreshment and revitalization point.
- Changing rooms, showers, and a deposit service located at the TAURON Arena Kraków.
Participants are organized into eleven specific start zones based on their declared completion times, ranging from under 1:20 to over 2:20. The event uses an electronic timing system via chips embedded in the starting numbers. Runners who complete the race within the time limit receive a commemorative medal and a recovery meal.
