Silesia Marathon
The Silesia Marathon is a major sports event held in the Silesia region of Poland. The race features multiple distances and concludes at the Silesia Stadium in Chorzów, where participants finish their run on the stadium's athletic track.
The event offers several individual running distances:
- Ultramarathon
- Marathon (42.195 km)
- Half Marathon (21.097 km)
- 10K RUN
- 5K RUN
All routes – including the marathon, half marathon, and ultramarathon – are officially certified. The marathon and half marathon courses hold certifications from IAAF (World Athletics) and the Polish Athletic Association (PZLA), while the ultramarathon is certified by the PZLA.
The event includes organized Pacemakers for specific finish times, which are announced shortly before the race. The starting area features marked starting sectors based on performance declarations to accommodate elite runners and different pace groups.
The race office is located at the Silesia Stadium in Chorzów. Access to the venue is available via public transport, including trams and buses. On the day of the event, participants can travel on public transport for free using their start number.
