The Acea Run Rome The Marathon is an athletic event held in the Italian capital, featuring a course that passes through historical landmarks. The main distance is a 42.195 km marathon that begins at the Via dei Fori Imperiali, with the Colosseum as a backdrop. The route includes iconic sites such as Piazza Venezia, the Vittoriano, Circus Maximus, and Lungotevere. Runners also pass by Castel Sant’Angelo and the Basilica of San Pietro before returning to the finish area.
The event offers several participation options:
- Marathon: A individual race of 42.195 km with a course ranging between 8.1 and 31 meters above sea level.
- Run4Rome Relay: A team event for four people covering the full marathon distance, divided into sections of 11 km, 12.5 km, 8 km, and 10.695 km.
- Saturday 5k Fun Run: A non-competitive 5 km walk or run starting at the Fori Imperiali and finishing at Circus Maximus.
The Expo Village is located at Circus Maximus, near the Metro B station. It serves as the hub for packet pickup and visitor information in the days leading up to the race. To assist with preparation, the organizers offer group training sessions called "Get Ready" and professional training plans. The event holds ISO 20121 certification for sustainable event management.
