About the race
The Mother’s Day Classic in Brisbane is a community walk and run event held at Riverside Green on Meeanjin/Magandjin riverside. The event offers two course lengths and both walking and running options:
- 4 km course
- 8 km course
Both courses start near South Bank Piazza, follow Brisbane’s riverfront including Clem Jones Promenade and Riverside Drive, and finish at Riverside Green. The courses are described as flat and wheelchair and pram friendly. An Event Village at Riverside Green provides a festival area with grassed and paved spaces, entertainment, and on-site services.
Event features include a dedicated Kids Zone with activities such as face painting, magician performances, craft workshops, bubble entertainment, and roaming buskers; DJs and MCs will provide music and announcements. Medal engraving is available at the village though significant wait times may occur. A baggage storage area is provided but valuables are not the event’s responsibility. The event operates cashless payments for onsite transactions. Water refill stations are located on the course and in the village; participants are encouraged to bring reusable bottles.
