Kedron Running Festival
Kedron Running Festival is a community running event held at Shaw Park in Wavell Heights, Queensland, with courses along the Kedron Brook Cycleway. The event offers multiple timed distances and a short family fun run.
Race distances:
- 21.1 km Half Marathon
- 10 km
- 5 km
- 2 km Family Dash
All distances are chip timed by Multisport Australia. The routes follow the Kedron Brook Cycleway and are described as flat and fast. Finishers in each distance receive a Kedron-themed medal, post-race snacks, sponsor giveaways, and a finisher’s certificate. The 2 km Family Dash is aimed at involving children in outdoor activity; an accompanying adult may run with a child for an additional fee but will not be timed or receive a medal.
There is no cut-off for the 2 km, 5 km, or 10 km events. The Half Marathon has a cut-off time of 3.5 hours. Race bibs are printed three weeks before the event and posted two weeks before race day; to have a name on a bib, registration must be completed at least three weeks out. The course includes public pedestrians, cyclists, and dogs, so participants are advised to stay aware of others on the path.
