About the race
The UVU 4.01K Race to Retirement is a community run and family event in Orem, Utah that connects a short-distance run with workplace retirement education. The day includes check-in and resource booths with music, a kids run on the track, a Zumba warm-up, a welcome from Fidelity, an adult 4.01K run/walk, awards for top finishers, prize drawings, and an event conclusion. Awards recognize the top three male and top three female finishers.
Distances:
- 4.01K adult run/walk
- 401 meters kids run, age 12 and under, on the track
The event is organized by Utah Valley University in partnership with Fidelity Investments. UVU's Financial Planning and Wealth Management program has more than 20 national titles. The event’s stated mission is to encourage two retirement actions: get the full employer match and invest that money.
Coaches from UVU's Money Success Center and Fidelity will provide free on-site coaching during the event. The event materials note that only one third of Utahns are estimated to be taking their full employer match on workplace 401k plans, and the run exists to bring awareness to saving and investing for retirement.
Location: Mountain View High School Track Bruin Bowl, 665 Center St., Orem, UT 84057, USA. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
