25. Poznań Maraton im. Macieja Frankiewicza
The Poznań Maraton is a historic running event in the capital of Greater Poland, which celebrates its 25th jubilee edition in 2026. The main event features the classic royal distance through the streets of the city. The marathon is part of the "Złota Seria 42" and is affiliated with AIMS and the Polish Marathons Association (PSB).
The event schedule spans three days and includes several accompanying activities for different age groups:
- 42.195 km (The main marathon distance)
- Poznań Five (A shorter running distance)
- Pho3nix Kids Maraton (Runs organized for children and youth)
In addition to the competitive races, the Poznań Run Expo takes place at the Poznań International Fair (MTP) in Hall 3 during the event weekend. This expo serves as the location for the race office where participants collect their start packages. An "Activity Zone" (Strefa Aktywności) is also available to visitors.
The marathon is named after Maciej Frankiewicz, a former Deputy Mayor of Poznań who was known for his contributions to the development of sports in the city. The event attracts thousands of participants and spectators, supported by the City of Poznań and the Poznań Centers for Sport and Recreation (POSiR).
