About the race
The Mother’s Day Classic at Yea Railway Park in Murrindindi Shire is a community walk and run supporting breast and ovarian cancer research. Registrations for this event have closed.
The course follows a scenic rail trail through countryside and finishes at Yea Railway Park. The route is flat and described as suitable for walkers, runners, wheelchairs, and prams. The venue is accessible and toilet facilities are available at Yea Railway Park. Parking is available around the event site and participants may drive, carpool, bike, walk, or use the Yea Railway parking spaces.
Water stations will be available in the event village and on the course, and participants are asked to bring their own water. The event is presented as a fun run and walk with no official run timing on the day. Dogs are allowed throughout the site and on the course provided they are kept on a leash.
Distances offered:
- 1 km walk from Railway Park to Melba Highway and return
- 5 km Yea Railway to end of Two Bridges and return
- 10 km Yea Railway to Frog Ponds Road and return
- 15 km Yea Railway to midpoint between Frog Ponds and Cheviot tunnel and return
- 20 km Yea Railway to Cheviot tunnel turn around and return
