EDP Maratona de Lisboa
The EDP Maratona de Lisboa is a road running event that forms part of the European Marathon Classics circuit. The course is notable for being located entirely alongside the sea and the river. The race starts in Carcavelos, specifically in front of the NOVA School of Business & Economics, and concludes at the Praça do Comércio in Lisbon.
The event offers the following distances:
- 42 km (Marathon)
- 21 km (Hyundai Meia Maratona)
- 8 km (EDP 8K)
The marathon has a participation limit of 18,000 runners and a time limit of 6 hours. Participants receive a kit that includes a technical t-shirt, a race bib with an integrated chip, and a bag. All finishers are awarded a medal. Registration fees vary based on the number of existing entries, with price tiers increasing as more spots are filled.
For logistics, the start line is located on the N6-7 road. Participants can access the start via the CP train line. Transport is free for runners who present their race bib on the day of the event until 17:00. The Sport Expo, where bibs and shirts are collected, is held at the FIL (Feira Internacional de Lisboa).
