Zoo Move & Groove 5K
The Phoenix Zoo presents an annual 5K run that follows a route through Papago Park and finishes inside the ZooLights display. Registered race participants receive a commemorative race t-shirt, admission to ZooLights, and a cup of hot cocoa. Before the run there are up-close animal encounters; after the finish there are activities at the lakeside area and awards for the top three finishers.
Entry options and add-ons listed for the event include several price tiers for runners, a spectator ZooLights admission price, an optional commemorative medal for purchase, and the option to buy an additional shirt. Children two and under are free; only paying athletes receive a shirt and food or beverage.
Packet pick up is provided at a Road Runner Sports location at Tempe Marketplace, with alternate packet availability at the race registration tent on race day. Times for packet pick up are subject to change.
The event supports Phoenix Zoo fundraising and conservation efforts. Participants can create personal fundraising pages and then earn tiered rewards when they meet fundraising thresholds, for example daytime tickets, Stingray Bay tickets, or certificates for guided zoo experiences depending on the amount raised.
