About the race
The Valentines Challenge is a six hour running event held at the Suffolk Running Centre, Church Road, Bury St Edmunds, IP29 5AX. Runners complete repeated laps from a Race HQ/Base Camp where an aid station is provided at the start and lap point. Parking is included in the entry. The event uses the Golding Hills route, described as a 10.5 km out and back loop from the campsite on 100% road with around 100 m of climb and a high point near 95 m and low point near 65 m.
A GPX file for the course is available from the course tab. The event operates a cupless policy so participants should bring their own bottle or cup for refilling. Medal options are available at the finish: a bespoke event medal or a lucky dip finisher medal selected from previous finishers. Runners may complete short distances or longer cumulative distances during the six hour period and can pause between laps.
The organiser provides straightforward logistics with an aid station each lap and no required navigation. Due to open roads no dogs or buggies are permitted and headphones are not allowed except bone conduction types. A virtual entry option is available via the organiser's shop.
