Seventh Day Adventist You Matter 5K
This community running event takes place in Columbus, GA on Sunday, September 20, 2026, and is sponsored by the Seventh Day Adventist Church to promote mental health awareness during suicide prevention month. Proceeds will benefit the H.O.P.E. Fund at the Pastoral Institute, a counseling organization serving Columbus, GA for more than 50 years. H.O.P.E. stands for Helping Other People Endure.
The event offers two distances:
- 1 mile fun run
- 5K
Entry fees are listed as $25 for the 5K and $20 for the 1 mile. Awards apply to the 5K only and include 1st, 2nd, and 3rd overall; 1st Masters; and age-group awards in 10-year increments (including under 14, 15-19, and up to 70+) for male and female divisions.
A race T-shirt is guaranteed for participants who register by September 11 at noon. Packet pick-up is available at Big Dog Fleet Feet at 12 W 11th St: on Friday, September 18 from 3:00 to 6:00 pm and on the event morning at the same address.
