33rd Annual YMCA Stair Climb & Urban Hike
The event brings together a large community at the U.S. Bank Tower in downtown Los Angeles for a stair climb and a self-guided urban hike. The stair climb ascends 75 floors and covers 1,664 steps inside the tower; climbers ride the elevator back to street level after reaching the top and can view the city from the observation area.
Proceeds support the Ketchum-Downtown YMCA’s free and low-cost programs for children, teens, families, and seniors in under-resourced communities. Funds are invested directly in programs such as summer camps, youth sports, preschool, teen leadership, and family wellness initiatives.
The Urban Hike is a scenic, self-guided walk that starts and ends at the same location as the stair climb, allowing participants to explore the city at their own pace. The day concludes with a block party featuring live music, sponsor activations, food, and a Beer Garden, providing space for local businesses, corporate teams, and community members to gather.
The event is described as a long-running community tradition that draws thousands of participants and serves as a fundraising activity to strengthen neighborhoods in and around downtown Los Angeles. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
