About the race
The YMCA Fun Run & Sports Festival is a community charity event held at Priory Park in Reigate. It combines timed running races with a sports festival and an event village offering food and activity stalls.
Distances
- 5 miles adult race on a loop of local lanes west of Reigate
- 1 mile adult and junior fun runs within Priory Park, including a flat anti-clockwise lap of the pond
All participants receive a bespoke YMCA technical race t-shirt and a commemorative medal. The main 5 mile route includes a water station en route; the 1 mile races remain inside the park and use the same start and finish area. Results are recorded by chip and gun time and are searchable by race number, name, or club. Prizes are awarded to top finishers and in age categories in the adult 5 mile race; there are also prizes for best fancy dress in each race.
The sports festival features free tasters from local clubs, a climbing wall, a bouncy castle, a central arena with displays, and free activity passports for children that can be stamped to claim a prize. Event photography is provided and free photos are available to download after the event. Entry fees cover event costs; fundraising for the YMCA Life Change Fund is encouraged but not compulsory. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
