YMCA Charity 5K at Downsview Park
The YMCA Charity 5K takes place on September 26, 2026 at Downsview Park, 15 Carl Hall Road, North York, Toronto. The event is a 5K run and walk for all ages that raises funds for YMCA camps in the Greater Toronto Area.
The fundraising goal is CA$500,000 to send more than 1,300 children to YMCA camps. The event page lists CA$93,611.80 raised to date. Proceeds support overnight and day camp programs that provide outdoor experiences, learning and social opportunities for children aged 4 to 15.
Entry features a souvenir T shirt, finisher medal, a personalized run bib if registered by Monday September 14, 2026, access to the post run celebration and official race timing by Chiptime Results. The event uses BibTag timing; the timing tag is on the back of the bib and must remain intact for a recorded time.
The route is an out and back 5K loop on paved paths with start and finish at the Festival Terrace Circuit Path. On site services include water stations, portable toilets, a medical tent and baggage check. Free parking is available at John Drury Drive and Carl Hall Road. Shuttle bus round trip tickets are offered from select YMCA locations for a fee and are available until September 14, 2026. Run kits must be picked up at the North York YMCA on September 24 and 25, 2026 or on race day; kits will not be mailed.
Safety rules prohibit scooters, inline skates, bicycles, skateboards and non service dogs. Children must be at least 6 years old to register; those 12 and under must be accompanied by an adult. Entry fees are non refundable and non transferable, though transfers to another participant are allowed until September 14, 2026 for an administration fee.
