YMCA Charity 5K at Downsview Park
The YMCA Charity 5K is scheduled for Saturday, September 26, 2026, at Downsview Park in North York, Ontario. The event is organized by the YMCA of Greater Toronto to fundraise for YMCA overnight and day camps. The campaign goal is CA$500,000 to send over 1,300 children to camp; the page shows CA$271,220.48 raised to date.
The course is a 5K out-and-back route on paved paths with the start and finish at the Festival Terrace / Circuit Path. The event uses corral-based mass starts with corrals assigned by estimated finish time. The finish area hosts pre- and post-run activities, and official timing is provided by Chiptime Results using a BibTag on the race bib.
Entries include a souvenir T-shirt and a finisher medal; registered participants receive a bib, timing, and race items. Run kit pickup is available at the North York YMCA in the days before the event and at the festival site on race day; kits are not mailed. A baggage check, water at the start/finish and an on-course water station, a medical tent at the festival site, and medical personnel on bicycles will be available.
Transport and access details list round-trip shuttle buses from select YMCA locations for a fee, free on-site parking at John Drury Drive and Carl Hall Road, and public transit access via Downsview Park GO/TTC Station, Sheppard West and Finch West stations and several bus routes. Safety rules prohibit scooters, inline skates, bicycles, skateboards, and non-service dogs. Children must be six years or older to register; children under six may attend without registration.
