About the race
YMCA Charity 5K is a fundraising run/walk scheduled for Saturday, September 26, 2026, at Downsview Park in North York, Toronto (15 Carl Hall Road). The route is an out-and-back 5K on the park’s paved Festival Terrace and circuit paths, with pre- and post-run activities located at the Festival Terrace/Circuit Path.
The event supports the YMCA of Greater Toronto. The stated fundraising goal is CA$500,000 to send over 1,300 children to YMCA camps; CA$228,545.76 has been raised so far (46% of the goal). Registered participants receive a souvenir T-shirt, finisher medal, and race timing; a personalized run bib is offered for entries completed by Monday, September 14, 2026. Taxes and processing fees are included in the entry price.
Current listed entry fees are CA$60 for adults (18+) and CA$30 for youth (17 and younger). Online registration closes Friday, September 25, 2026. Entry fees are non-refundable and non-deferrable; transfers to another person are allowed until Monday, September 14, 2026, with a CA$20 administration fee.
Practical information includes pre-event kit pickup at the North York YMCA (567 Sheppard Avenue East) on September 24 and 25, on-site run day kit pickup at the Festival Terrace, free on-site parking at John Drury Drive and Carl Hall Road (Lot D1), and public transit access via Downsview Park GO/TTC, Sheppard West and Finch West stations and several bus routes. Shuttle buses from select YMCA locations are available for a CA$10 round trip. For safety, scooters, inline skates, bicycles, skateboards, and non-service dogs are not permitted.
