YMCA Charity 5K : Downsview Park, 26 September 2026
The YMCA Charity 5K is the third annual community run/walk taking place on 26 September 2026 at Downsview Park (Festival Terrace / Circuit Path), 15 Carl Hall Road, North York. The course is an out-and-back 5 km on paved park paths with the start and finish at Festival Terrace, where pre- and post-run activities are held.
Registration includes adult and youth categories. Fees include all taxes and processing charges; entry fees are non-refundable and non-deferrable. Registered participants receive a souvenir T-shirt, a finisher medal, and a personalized run bib if registration is completed by the stated deadline. Official timing is provided by Chiptime Results using a BibTag on the back of the bib; the bib must be worn on the front to record a time.
Run kit pickup is available at the North York YMCA on the days before the event and at the Festival Terrace on race day; bib number and photo ID are required and run kits will not be mailed or available after the event. Shuttle buses offer round-trip transportation from select YMCA locations for a fee; spaces are limited. On-course provisions include water stations, a medical tent at the start/finish and medical personnel on bicycles, and portable toilets. Start uses corral-based mass waves with a corral recommended for walkers, families, and strollers. Children must be at least 6 years old to register and those 12 and under must be accompanied by an adult. The fundraising goal is CA$500,000 to send over 1,300 children to YMCA camps; CA$131,280.62 has been raised so far. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
